There are several medical associations with the goal of advancing the field of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. American Thoracic Society –
The American Thoracic Society is dedicated to advancing clinical and scientific understanding of pulmonary diseases, critical illnesses and sleep-related breathing disorders.

American College of Chest Physicians –
The mission of the American College of Chest Physicians is to champion the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chest diseases through education, communication, and research.

American Academy of Sleep Medicine –
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) improves sleep health and promotes high quality patient centered care through advocacy, education, strategic research, and practice standards.

Society of Critical Care Medicine –
The Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) offers a variety of activities that promote excellence in patient care, education, research, and advocacy. SCCM’s mission is to secure the highest quality care for all critically ill and injured patients.

European Respiratory Society –

ERS is the leading professional organization for respiratory disease in Europe with some 10,000 members in over 100 countries. Its scope covers both basic science and clinical medicine. ERS seeks to alleviate suffering from respiratory disease and promote lung health through research, sharing of knowledge and through medical and public education.
